The Keepall by Sylvie Fleury

keepall

“I choose certain highly symbolic products from our consumer society, and reproduce them in the form of sculpture, generally in chrome-finish bronze. In this way, I give them a sort of shimmering immortality.” explains Sylvie Fleury.

In 2000 Fleury did just that when she reinvented the Keepall in a shimmering fashionable bag!

The Lockit as imagined by Ugo Rondine

ugo_rondinone

“My ambition is for Paris to creep into my composition, and for the bag, by some optical illusion, to appear as one of its monuments.”

-Ugo Rondine as quoted in Stephane Gerschel’s “Louis Vuittone ‘Icons'”

Swiss artist, Ugo Rondine, attempted making Louis Vuittone’s The Lockit as a monument in Paris by hanging the bag on a wall adjacent to a window which opens up into the city. With use of a color filter he creates enough unreality of the outside world to become a part of his canvas.

Colors, Fabulous Colors!

Fabulous Color influences attitude, emotions, and the way we think

Entering the room, those seeing you register the color you are wearing before any other detail. Our eyes perceive the language of mood, energy and insight. Color exerts gentle effects on mind, body, physical health, and influences our attitude. We unconsciously respond to the color we wear based on the body’s natural reaction to color and the psychological associations we form around them. The color you wear goes beyond aesthetics.

Colors we encounter make us feel happy or sad, invigorate or even drain vitality and while influencing work habits. Even in history color has meaning. In China, blue is associated with immortality, while people in the Middle East view blue as a color of protection.

Red excites us and inflames our passion although too much can make us feel overstimulated and irritated. Pink makes one feel loved and protected and can cause feelings of lethargy.

Yellow is joy and optimism while energizing and helping us think more clearly. Bright orange  (my favorite color) reduces depression and sadness. Blue and green create peaceful feelings allowing us to concentrate better. This is the reason blue and green is used for paint in our environment, although darker tones make us feel serious and introspective.

There are ways to integrate color into your life that go beyond decor and wardrobe. Meditate with color by concentrating on colors that make you feel peaceful.

Choose to surround yourself with colors that you are attracted to and make your feel Fabulous and create an environment that makes you feel nurtured, peaceful, uplifted, and Fabulous.

Let me help you with your colors

Kerry Washington looked fit and Fabulous in Prada and jewels by Harry Winston. This two piece gown showing her figure after giving birth, showcased both the gown and the figure.
Lupita Nyong’o once again looked fit and Fabulous, this time in Gucci and Fred Leighton jewelry. The simplicity of the dress with the jeweled neckline shows Lupita is someone to watch.
Sandra Bullock looked better at the SAG awards than the Golden Globes. Dress in a Fabulous Lanvin gown complimented with Fred Leighton jewelry.
Jennifer Garne look Fabulous in MAX MARA and Brian Atwood. Classic, conservative, and plain, she look like she belonged on the red carpet.
Claire Danes in a Fabulous Vionnet gown with Jimmy Choo shoes and Forevermark Diamonds made a entrance deserving of the SAG Awards.
Jennifer Lawrence forever in Christian Dior looked Hollywood Fabulous.
Amy Adams, in Antonio Berardi, looked Fabulous. The beautiful blue, the one shoulder, the cutouts, created an unexpected look of perfection.
Julie Bowen wore Carolina Herrera in warm shades of orange and brown was less than red carpet ready.
Sofia Vergara back in fitted Donna Karan Atelier looked Fabulous with appropriate jewelry and so much better than she did at the Golden Globes.
Julia Roberts forever Fabulous and taking a chance in a Valentino pantsuit pulled the look off with grace and hair that complimented the entire look.
Jane Krakowski in Roland Mouret looked Fabulous in spite of a boring one shoulder dress in green.
Cate Blanchett forever Fabulous in Givenchy with Chopard jewelry once again teaches everyone how to look on the red carpet.
Abigail Breslin looked Fabulous and voluptuous in black Chagoury Couture. She let her figure tell the story.
Alfre Woodard in Tadashi Shoji looked frumpy and less than Fabulous. The cut, the style, the dress looked less than Fabulous.
Elisabeth Moss in Fabulous red Michael Kors looked simple and beautiful.
Emila Clarke in classic tailored blush Calvin Klein. Neither Fabulous nor not Fabulous, just boring.
Helen Mirren looked Fabulous except in her over embellished Escada gown. Always beautiful, she does not need the gimmicks of this gown.
Kelly Osbourne looked Fabulous in Zac Posen and it even matched her hair, not the look I would have chosen but worked for this tattooed mavin.
Giuliana Rancic in a Fabulous Basil Soda purple halter look beautiful although anorexic.

“The Speedy” As Envisioned by Bruno Peinado

Bruno_Peinado

Art Deco and Pop Art influenced artist, Bruno Peinado brings out from this classic Louis Vuitton bag a “virgin jungle inhabited by moving shadows”. (‘Louis Vuittone Icons by Stephanie Gerschel) Using aluminum sheets, numeric cut-outs and dramatically lit with beams of strobe lighting Peinado gives us his take on this out-and-out city bag.

What bag was the ‘Foundation’ of Louie Vuitton’s success?

The Wardrobe Trunk designed in 1875 was part of a collection of hard-framed luggage, whose craftsmanship and distinction were the *foundation* for Louie Vuitton’s success” ~  From the Book: ‘Louis Vuitton – ICONS’

Golden Globes 2014 The Fabulous Report

Lena Dunham in Zac Posen’s Fabulous lemon strapless gown looking like yellow bird on a bad day. The dress did not fit, did not compliment her body, and she does not know how to stay for photographs.

Diane Keaton wore Ralph Lauren, just as she did in “Annie Hall” years ago and look awkward and nervous. Black and white is Fabulous although she has played this look so many times, it is time to try something Fabulous.

Hayden Panettiere wore a Fabulous Tom Ford black and white gown designed for someone taller. She looked short, dumpy and much like a sausage in it’s casing.

Monica Potter looked Fabulous in Romona Keveza’s gold beaded halter neck gown. Her hair was appropriate for the gown and the lack of accessories allowed her to shine.

Heidi Klum in Marchesa looked Fabulous in black and white. Her hair down and with major bangs, a look that help the aging model, looked better than a recent appearance with her hair in an undo, not her best look.

Jennifer Lawrence wears Fabulous Dior consistently but this tissuey gown wasn’t the best. It looked like a roll of tissue paper held in place with rubber bands.

Sofia Vergara in a Fabulous black Zac Posen ball gown that could conceal multitudes of figure flaws, that this bombshell does not have. Although great to see her in something different, this did not showcase her curves. The necklace was Fabulous and the dress was Fabulous, just not together.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in Fabulous scarlet Narciso Rodriguez halter gown looked fit and fine competing with the red carpet rather than standing out.

Sandra Bullock wore a not so Fabulous Prabal Gurung gown. It appeared that she could not decide what color to wear or the designer had pieces of fabric that needed to be used. At least put a black belt to define and separate.

Julianna Margulies wears black Andrew Gn, with a Fabulous voluminous skirt balancing the plunging front. One piece of advise, stand up straight, shoulders back and the small ta-tas out.

Helen Mirren wore a Fabulous Jenny Packham green tulle and chiffon gown with orchid embellishment. A class act with a classy look.

Zoe Saldana in a custom-made Prabal Gurung. The dress looked like a Fabulous project for Project Runway that went wrong. Craft projects do not have a place on the red carpet.

Margot Robbie in a Gucci gown that accented her Fabulous figure. The shoes in the same shade as the green trip accented to perfection.

Amy Poehler in black Stella McCartney, looked the most Fabulous she has ever looked. Never too thin and/or too rich.

Zooey Deschanel in a Fabulous ivory Oscar de la Renta. Looking a little matronly and the ivory a little to close to the tone of her skin creating an old washed out look in a beautiful gown for another.

Matthew McConaughey, in a Fabulous tux by Dolce & Gabbana looked too orange from too many spray tans. A nice looking man with too many visit to the spa. He looked like a dream sickle, dreamy but orange.

Olivia Wilde in a Fabulous green sparkling Gucci gown look like a snake that swallowed the gerbil. Pregnant and wearing a tight fighting gown showed off her baby bump and the fact that she is not eating much.

Cate Blanchett in a black high-neck Armani that flips to a Fabulous and surprisingly sexy back. The hair was beautiful but spray to helmet hair hard, would have looked better if it moved.

Handy Tips That Are Fabulous

Checking into Facebook and perusing the latest entries I came across an entry with a picture that brought to mind how the hands give our age away. The person had taken off their fake nails for a more natural approach. I give applause to a natural nail as I believe fake nails are destructive to the natural nail. What spoke louder than the nail was the hand. This is a person that takes exceptional care of her skin and dresses to impress although her hands say nursing home old. Although they appeared to have no hyper pigmentation because of her exceptional care of her hands. Her face appears to be more youthful than her years. It is sad to see a lady who takes such Fabulous care of her appearance and ignore the need of dermal fillers in her hands.

Many women have taken such Fabulous care of their faces with dermal filler and have the appearance of years younger than their birthdate. I see it when out to eat. A Fabulous woman dressed to impress, jeweled to sparkle, coifed like a tiara, and shoes that are designed to sit, will pick up their wine glass and remind me of Spider Woman. Two claw clutching a Riedel filled with Silverado 07 and there is no question the nearing of retirement. She has placed all of her revenue in her face with neglect below the neck.

2014 can be the year for your hands. A Fabulous manicure is a basic beginning and nurturing of the nail and cuticle with something as simple as olive oil to keep supple. Address the hyper pigmentation with daily applications of products to eliminate the production of melanin. Also consider many of the procedures for hyper pigmentation available like laser, IPL, microdermabrasion, chemical peel and prescription cremes. Please do not forget to use sunscreen Every Day applying multiple times daily. With correction of hyper pigmentation and eliminating the daily use of sunscreen, the hyper pigmentation will return with a flurry.

Do not overlook the loss of volume. As we age we start to slow the production of collagen about 1% annually after the age of 25. This collagen loss along with fat redistribution and loss coupled with bone loss produces a hand that has the appearance of excess skin. The skin has not gotten larger; the structure below has decreased volume. The volume loss is a simple procedure to replace with dermal fillers. Most dermal fillers are used by many injectors to correct this deficit. For me, after doing most of the dermal fillers in my hand and having to repeat every 6 months to maintain a youthful hand, I had needle fatigue as well as credit card fatigue. I choose to transition to ArteFill so I could achieve correction and take my hands off my to do list while maintaining corrections.

Do not forget to Stay Fabulous and In Touch

A Fabulous You for 2014

Do not make me walk up to you and ask if you dressed in the dark. With so many full length mirrors available, it continues to surprise me when I see people dressing with complete abandon, at least abandoning taste. Resolve for 2014 you will pay attention to what you wear and how you wear your selection. Clean and pressed cost very little. Hem your pants if they are too long and also take them in if they are too big and let them out if they are too small, or better yet, go on a diet. You can never be too rich or too thin.

Never go wrong with black and let your jewelry be your individuality. If the jewelry is real, it can never be too big. Good costume jewelry worn with Fabulous flair can help you make the statement entrance you desire. Just do not overdo the costume babbles. Remember what Marilyn Monroe would do before leaving. Marilyn would look in a full length mirror and do a 360 turn and whatever her eye landed on she would remove. Marilyn did not want anything to distract from Marilyn and the image.

Do not forget a Fabulous fragrance and be sure to use enough for others to know you are wearing a Fabulous fragrance. Remember what Coco Chanel said, let your fragrance announce your arrival and delay your departure.

Have you worn a hat lately??? Try a Fabulous hat in a style that you would not first choose and see if you like the reflection in the mirror. A hat can say confidence and style and also be useful in the cooler months and provide shade in the warmer months. Your hat could be the one piece you wear that says Fabulous. Maybe a bright red fedora or a yellow floppy brim that says you have arrived.

How do your shoes look??? When is the last time you polished them or took them to the cobbler??? Just because you purchased them does not mean the end of the obligation. Take care of your shoes and they will help take care of your style. Shoes should be polished and without worn soles or heals. Nothing says sloppy like shoes that look like you took them from a homeless person.

What does your skin look like??? Do you take care of you skin so you can look your best??? Exfoliation is the most important thing you do for your skin. Everything you put on your skin after exfoliation will absorb better and be more effective. Manual exfoliation is controllable by you and simple home items can create the best experience. Salt and/or sugar along with olive oil can not only exfoliate you skin; it can add to the softness with the olive oil. Do not forget your elbows and heals. Nothing worse than a Fabulous pair of shoes with an open back and crusty heels.

Are you keeping up with your Botox??? 3 months is all it is supposed to last, so do not be surprised and spend the money on this basic. Botox is a gateway drug for the Fabulous stuff, dermal fillers. Are you tired of constantly paying for your dermal fillers??? I know I was. I got credit card fatigue and needle fatigue. I did my research and found a Fabulous filler call ArteFill and now enjoy the longevity of the filler that I never had with the temporary filler I once used. Now I do not have to chase my cheeks all over town. Now that I use ArteFill my cheeks have stayed in place for years. Fabulous and natural what a combination. For me a liquid facelift using ArteFill gave me the freedom to look Fabulous without scares. The procedure was simple, with no bruising or swelling. Let me know if you have any questions ???
